City of Cape Town elects new accounts supplier
23 Feb 2006
Lithotech Afric Mail, a division of market-leading printing specialist, Lithotech, has been awarded the sought-after R13.2m contract to print electricity, water and other accounts for the City of Cape Town. The bidding process saw Lithotech Afric Mail trump three key national players to secure the three-year contract.
Brad Geyser, Lithotech Afric Mail National Marketing Director explains, “Our BEE structure and sustainability were significant factors in securing the contract. Tailoring and aligning our manufacturing vision to that of the City of Cape Town’s also demonstrated our commitment to the tender.”
According to Geyser, Lithotech’s success can be attributed to its unique and effective service incorporating specialised technology, design, printing and logistical organisation. “We are the only company with all services under one roof and nothing outsourced to third parties.”
Lithotech Afric Mail will be responsible for providing a print-to-post service for all City of Cape Town accounts, supplying paper, envelopes, personalisation and mailing logistics. A key offering will be a fully-automated mailroom and database management system. This includes a return mail service involving bar-code scanning and report back to the council with reasons why the mail did not reach its intended destination. This innovative system developed by Lithotech is designed to create a regional mailing grid minimising the delivery errors associated with time-critical high-volume mailed communications.
The City of Cape Town implementation will be headed up by Account Manager, Oscar Whate. This latest addition to the Lithotech client portfolio comes on the back of securing long-term contracts with Discovery Health, Vodacom and the Foshini Group.
